Do you feel like a fraud Pilates instructor?

Happy Friday! A follow up to my last post on whether you’re ready to become a Pilates instructor.

It is common to have fear that we don’t know enough and can’t be a good instructor if you can’t do all the exercises perfectly!

I came across a post and video from Wake Up Cloud that reaffirms why having passion is the most important asset to become a successful instructor. http://www.wakeupcloud.com/when-you-feel-like-a-fraud/

Quote from the video:

“You don’t have to know it all. You just have to know enough to help someone.  If you are passionate about helping people improve their lives, be happy and all that, that means that you’re curious and you want to learn more. And it means that you will be learning for the rest of your life.”

If you speak to any Pilates instructors who have been teaching for years, they will tell you that Pilates is a never ending journey of learning. You never stop gaining new knowledge.

My motto is “To love, be loved, never stop learning, never stop moving”, part of it that I took from Timothy Ferrais, the author of Four Hour Work Week.

Don’t like fear stop you. Instead, let your curiosity take over. You don’t have to know it all, and if you have passion, you will never stop learning, and you will be a good and successful instructor!
